Elriani Begins Title Defence In Greenwich

England's Linda Elriani began the defence of her title in the Women's Greenwich Squash Open in style when she beat Egypt's Eman El Amir 9-5 9-0 9-2 in the first round of the WISPA World Tour event in Connecticut, USA.

The top seed from Eastbourne in Sussex, who won the title for the first time last year under her maiden name of 'Charman', will now face Scotland's Pamela Nimmo for a place in the semi-finals.  Nimmo, the seventh seed, defeated England's European Champion Rebecca Botwright 9-5 9-5 9-1.
