After beating a higher-ranked opponent to qualify for the event, Mexican teenager Arturo Salazar scored his second successive upset in the Bogotá Tennis Club Circuito Mundial De Squash when he beat No4 seed Shawn Delierre in a marathon 88-minute first round encounter in the new 2-star PSA Tour event at Bogotá Tennis Club in the Colombian capital Bogotá.

Arturo, 19, twice foiled fight-backs from the experienced Canadian before winning 11-10 (2-0), 3-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-7.

Arturo's twin brother Cesar Salazar was unable to extend his involvement in the event into the last eight.  Also a qualifier, Cesar went down 11-1, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5 to fellow Mexican Eric Galvez, the third seed.

England's Joey Barrington also survived a marathon battle to take his place in the last eight.  The 27-year-old second seed took 83 minutes to get the better of US qualifier Christopher Gordon 11-3, 11-7, 9-11, 11-7.

Barrington now faces local hero Miguel Angel Rodriguez for a place in the semi-finals.  The fifth seed from Bogotá - now Colombia's sole survivor in the event - defeated compatriot Bernardo Samper 11-9, 5-11, 11-6, 11-7 in just under an hour
