Kheirallah Cruises To Masters Title In Atlanta

Whereas both players endured 85-minute semi-final marathons to reach the final, it was Engy Kheirallah who clearly suffered the least as the Egyptian cruised to a straight games victory over favourite Latasha Khan to win the Women's Atlanta Squash Masters title in Atlanta, USA.

Khan, the six-times US national champion from Seattle, was stretched to the limit in her 9-7 1-9 9-5 3-9 9-5 semi-final defeat of England's fourth seed Rebecca Botwright.

But despite a similar five-game scoreline in her victory over Mexico's third seed Samantha Teran, Kheirallah romped to a 9-0 9-2 9-2 victory over Khan in just 28 minutes.

The 23-year-old from Alexandria joins an exclusive club of players who have been unbeaten in Tour finals.  It was Kheirallah's fourth appearance in a WISPA World Tour final – and her fourth triumph!
