Netherlands & England Seeded To Share European Junior Honours
Dutchman Dylan Bennett and England's Suzie Pierrepont are the top seeds in
the men's and women's events, respectively, in the 2003 European Junior
Individual Squash Championships which begin this Saturday (12th April) in
Parsdorf, Germany.
Bennett, 18, from Eindhoven, has enjoyed a spectacular final year as a
junior, winning seven events on the European Junior Circuit, including the
Nordic Open, Spanish Open, Belgian Open, Hungarian Open, Scottish Open,
French Open and Welsh Open. A quarter-finalist in last year's European
Junior Championship in France, Bennett is expected to meet England's
17-year-old No2 seed Laurence Delasaux, from Hull, in the final on Tuesday
(15th April).
England's Suzie Pierrepont, from Brighton in Sussex, is the favourite in the
women's event, in which the seeding committee predict the first ever
Anglo-Spanish final. Runner-up in this year's British Junior Championship,
18-year-old Pierrepont is expected to meet No2 seed Margaux Moros in the
final. The 17-year-old from Valencia was a quarter-finalist in the 2001
championship.
In the mixed team event which follows, England will be bidding to win the
