Australian-born sisters Rachael Grinham and Natalie Grinham will meet for the first time since contesting the World Open semi-finals in September 2009 when they line-up in the quarter-finals of the Women's Texas Open, the WISPA World Tour Silver 30 squash event at Downtown YMCA in Dallas.
Natalie, the younger of the pair who is making her Tour comeback after the birth of her first child last year, battled to a five-game first round upset over sixth-seeded US teenager Amanda Sobhy, winning 10-12, 11-7, 11-6, 6-11, 11-8.
By contrast, top seed Rachael Grinham, winner of the title in 2004, needed only three games to see off German qualifier Sina Wall 11-5, 11-3, 11-6.
The 34-year-old world No4 from Queensland will be hoping to avenge her defeat by Natalie in Amsterdam 19 months ago when the Toowoomba twosome meet in Dallas for the 24th time since August 2000.
Hong Kong's Joey Chan also pulled off a five-game upset when she beat Malaysia's eighth seed Delia Arnold 11-8, 11-3, 3-11, 9-11, 11-8.
Chan, the 22-year-old world No23, will now take on fourth seed Joelle King, the defending champion from New Zealand who removed US qualifier Olivia Blatchford 11-5, 11-3, 11-7.
