Nick Matthew and Ramy Ashour jointly head the latest 2011 ATCO PSA World Series Standings after sharing the year's first two major Professional Squash Association events in the USA.
After Ramy Ashour, the world No2 from Egypt, clinched the JP Morgan Tournament of Champions title in New York in January, England's world champion Nick Matthew avenged his defeat by beating the 23-year-old from Cairo in last week's North American Open final in Richmond, Virginia.
Matthew marked up his 40th PSA World Tour final appearance in Richmond, then celebrated his eighth World Series crown. Earlier in New York, his younger Egyptian rival had already notched up his 13th World Series title at Grand Central Terminal.
Third place in the latest ATCO PSA World Series Standings is also shared - by England's James Willstrop and Egypt's Amr Shabana, both of whom reached the semi-finals in New York and Virginia.
Australian veteran David Palmer - who missed out on a top eight World Series finish last year for the first time since 2003 - and England's 2010 World Series Finals newcomer Peter Barker share fifth place.
Malaysian Mohd Azlan Iskandar, who made up for a first round exit in New York by reaching the North American Open quarters, takes seventh place - ahead of Englishmen Alister Walker and Tom Richards and Canadian Shahier Razik in joint eighth place.
