Australia's Wade Johnstone, one of four qualifiers in action in the quarter-finals of the National Capital Open, made it through to the semi-finals of the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event after upsetting third seed Jan Koukal at Bethesda Sport & Health in Bethesda, USA.
The Perth-born 29-year-old beat Czech number one Koukal 11-8, 12-10, 9-11, 11-5 - and will now face unseeded Englishman Jaymie Haycocks for a place in the final.
Haycocks, from Leeds, ended the run of Hong Kong qualifier Leo Au, beating the 21-year-old who ousted Australia's top seed Aaron Frankcomb, 8-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-9 in 79 minutes.
