Chinatsu Matsui claimed a surprise place in the quarter-finals of the Women's Seoul Open after a straight games victory over eighth seed Kylie Lindsay in the opening round of the $20,000 WISPA World Tour squash event in its fourth year in Seoul in South Korea.

The unseeded 33-year-old from Japan defeated New Zealander Lindsay 11-7, 13-11, 11-7 at the Kimpo Airport Shopping Mall, and will now line up against Donna Urquhart for a place in the last four.

Australian Urquhart, the No3 seed, beat Japan's Misaki Kobayashi 12-10, 11-6, 8-11, 11-3.
