Canada's Alexandra Norman celebrated her maiden WISPA World Tour squash title success when she beat top seed Latasha Khan in the final of the $6,600 Women's Southwest Open at Life Time Fitness in Phoenix in the US state of Arizona.

Second seed Norman, ranked outside the world top 60, was facing world No26 Khan for the third time on the Tour in almost two years - and looking for her first win.

And the England-born 27-year-old from Montreal took the first two games before the experienced Khan, a former world No18 from Seattle, battled back to draw level.

But Norman held her nerve to close out the match 11-9, 11-9, 6-11, 9-11, 11-5 to claim her first Tour win in only her 18th event since joining WISPA some two and a half years ago.
