Alexandria-based Amr Mansi upset a trio of fellow Egyptians - all of whom are from 'rival' city Cairo - to win the inaugural Alexandria International Squash Open on his home courts at the city's Alexandria Sporting Club.
Seeded seven, 28-year-old Mansi made his breakthrough in the quarter-finals of the $6,000 PSA World Tour Super Satellite event where he battled for five games to overcome second seed Wael Farag 12-10, 7-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-4.
After despatching fourth seed Ahmed Hawas in the semis, Mansi took on event favourite Andrew Wagih Shoukry, ranked 97 in the world.
Spurred on by the partisan crowd, the Alexandrian ranked outside the world top 250 defeated Shoukry 11-7, 12-10, 11-5 to win the second Tour title of his career.
