The top two seeds contested both U19 finals in the 2009 Cool & Clean Swiss Junior Open Squash Championships - but enjoyed mixed successes in the European Squash Federation Junior Circuit event in Langnau am Albis in Switzerland.
Women's favourite Tesni Evans took out local player Agapi Kazamia, a 5/8 seed, in the semi-finals before meeting France's second seed Cyrielle Peltier in the final.
Peltier, 17, was celebrating her second successive appearance in the Swiss final - but for the second year finished as runner-up as 17-year-old Welsh star Evans battled to an 11-8, 7-11, 11-7, 12-10 victory to record her first ESF title success.
England's Robert Downer, the top seed in the men's U19 event, was marking his third appearance in an ESF circuit event final in two months. But again the 17-year-old from Hampshire finished in second place as second-seeded Dane Caspar Grauballe Nielsen fought back from a game down to upset Downer 11-13, 11-5, 11-4, 7-11, 11-4.
The 18-year-old from Brondby was celebrating his maiden U19 ESF circuit title just weeks before reaching his 19th birthday.
