The Professional Squash Association (PSA), the organisation that promotes men’s professional squash, announces that the eagerly awaited online squash revolution is launching for the quarter finals of the Saudi International Squash Tournament 2009 on 16 December.  As well as offering the best viewing experience the game has ever seen, the website will provide significantly more revenue opportunities for the PSA with greater advertising and sponsorship space.

The all new live and on-demand squash internet TV streaming service - www.psasquashtv.com - developed with digital specialists Perform, will launch in beta-version with free registration for viewers. It will feature live games from the quarterfinals onwards all the way to the final, which takes place on 18 December.

Saudi will be a taste of what is to come in 2010 when the website will launch in full with all its new features for the spectacular JP Morgan Tournament of Champions in New York from 22-28 January.

The website will deliver:

•    Satellite delivery from the venue guaranteeing highest quality visual definition
•    User-friendly site design
•    New camera angles to take viewers closer to the on-court action
•    Live streaming of over 250 live matches a year
•    Event highlights, full match downloads, behind the scenes features and interviews
•    Latest news and features from events and PSA
•    Player rankings and stats centre
•    Sponsor and partner prominence and interactivity

The new website forms a central part of the PSA’s strategy of delivering more for its members, increasing access to the game and generating greater commercial opportunities for the sport.

Commenting on the beta-launch, Alex Gough, CEO of the PSA, said:  “Investing in digital media is a critical area for the PSA and we’re very excited about the new internet TV.  Squash is the perfect sport to be provided online, with a large but disparate fan base.

“The new site will guarantee year round high quality coverage.  Commercially this is very important to us because it opens up new opportunities to sell advertising and sponsorship.  The satellite feed will transform online betting, for example.”

The PSA is also overhauling its own website with Perform and it is expected to be ready in early 2010.
