Malaysians Survive KL Open Quarters
Local interest will be carried through to the semi-finals of the Kuala Lumpur
Open Squash Championships after Mohammed Azlan Iskandar and Sharon Wee
survived the quarter-finals at the NSC Squash Centre in contrasting styles.
Iskandar, the second seed, cruised to a 15-8 15-4 15-5 win over fifth-seeded
Welshman Gavin Jones, but Wee, the third seed in the women's event, was taken
the full distance by Scotland's fifth seed Wendy Maitland before winning 10-9
9-3 3-9 2-9 9-6.
Wee will meet Australia's Natalie Grinham, the second seed, who ended
unseeded Welsh champion Tegwen Malik's run with a straight games 9-1 9-6 9-6
defeat
