NEWS RESULTS: Evolution Squash Open, Mexico City, Mexico Final: Eric Galvez (MEX) bt [Q] Mauricio Sánchez (MEX) 15-10, 15-9, 15-4 (55m) Galvez Celebrates Evolution Open Title Unseeded Eric Galvez claimed his first title on the PSA Tour when he beat qualifier Mauricio Sánchez in straight games in a surprise all-Mexican final of the Evolution Squash Open in Mexico City. Despite reaching the final of the Pan American Championships in August last year, and winning the gold medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador three months later, Galvez was making his first appearance in a PSA Tour final. The 20-year-old from Puebla, ranked outside the world top 100, reached the Evolution Open final after beating Switzerland's sixth seed Andre Holderegger in the first round, then overpowering second-seeded Dutchman Dylan Bennett in the semi-finals. Sánchez, Mexico's top junior, made his stunning breakthrough in the opening round when he defeated Australia's top seed Cameron White in straight games. Galvez was too strong for his younger opponent in the final, but still needed 55 minutes to overcome Sanchez 15-10 15-9 15-4.
