Semi-finals:
[1] Shelley Kitchen (NZL) bt [4] Louise Crome (NZL) 9-6, 10-8, 9-4
[3] Latasha Khan (USA) bt [2] Sharon Wee (MAS) 5-9, 9-6, 9-0, 9-0
Top seed Shelley Kitchen will face Latasha Khan in the final of the Women's Berkshire Open in Williamstown, USA, after the third seed from the USA pulled off a remarkable upset over Malaysia's No2 seed Sharon Wee in the semi-finals of the WISPA World Tour squash event at Williams College.
Khan, a seven-time US national champion from Seattle, was a game behind and 2-6 down in the second game before winning 25 points in a row to triumph 5-9, 9-6, 9-0, 9-0 over the world No18! Khan is celebrating her fourth Tour final appearance this year.
By contrast, Kitchen defeated fellow kiwi Louise Crome 9-6, 10-8, 9-4 in the other semi-final to reach her fifth WISPA final this year.
"Kitchen’s hard-hitting game versus Kahn’s delightful touch and smart game should produce a fantastic final," said event spokesman Zafi Levy.
