Malaysia's No2 seed Sharon Wee became an early casualty in the Women's Elbow River Casino Calgary Squash Open in Canada when she crashed out of the first round of the WISPA World Tour event at the Bow Valley Club in Calgary which is hoping to "Squash" Breast Cancer.
Unseeded Canadian Alana Miller beat Wee 9-5, 9-4, 9-2 to claim her second win over the Malaysian on home soil this year.
The 27-year-old Canadian National champion from Winnipeg will now go on to face compatriot Runa Reta for a place in the semi-finals. Reta, the seventh seed, beat Hong Kong's Elise Ng 9-1, 9-5, 9-3.
Event favourite Shelley Kitchen, the world No11 from New Zealand, cruised into the quarter-finals after beating New Zealand-born Canadian Sarah Parsons 9-0, 9-0, 9-2.
