US champion Natalie Grainger delighted the crowd at the Women's Texas Open Squash Championship in Dallas when she cruised to victory in the final to become the first home winner of the WISPA World Tour Silver event in its six years in the US state of Texas.

The top seed from Washington DC burst into the final after beating New Zealand's No4 seed Jaclyn Hawkes in straight games in the semi-finals.

Rebecca Chiu, the No2 seed from Hong Kong, despatched Mexican Samantha Teran, the fifth seed, in the other semi.

But Grainger, in her 29th WISPA World Tour final, was too strong for the former Asian Games champion, winning 9-0, 9-1, 9-4.

Grainger has enjoyed a highly successful three months on squash courts since becoming a US citizen in February.  The 29-year-old former world number one followed her victory in the Burning River Cleveland Classic in March in Ohio by winning the US National crown for the first time in Portland.

The Texas Open triumph brings Grainger's WISPA title total to 13.
