English qualifiers Ben Ford and William Newnham came through the first round of the Fros Squash Open and will now face each other for a place in the semi-finals of the inaugural PSA Tour event at Sonderborg Squash Club in Sonderborg, Denmark.
Ford, 31, from Kent, defeated Spain's No7 seed David Vidal 11-1, 11-9, 11-5 in 33 minutes while Newnham, a 19-year-old from Sussex in his first year on the PSA Tour, took just two minutes longer to quash third-seeded Dutchman Rene Mijs 11-7, 11-6, 11-6.
