England Squash have appointed Jim Lord to the position of Director of Development & Competitions.  The 39-year-old from Thurlstone in South Yorkshire takes up his appointment today (10 April). Lord brings unique qualities to the key role at England Squash where he will manage the Area Managers and Administrators, plus the Competitions and Events department.   A former Combined Services, RAF and County Squash champion, and the reigning British Over 35 Racketball champion, Lord is also a qualified Squash and Racketball coach.  After ten years in the RAF, he pursued a successful career in business and latterly was Head of Affinity Relations at a leading Travel and Leisure Group.

"Having played squash all my life, I felt that this was an ideal opportunity to get back into something I am passionate about," said Lord.

"I see two of my main goals as being to increase participation in the sport and grow the membership of England Squash.

"I can't wait to get started - I'm really looking forward to the challenge," added the Association's new Director.

England Squash Chief Executive Nick Rider added:  "I’m really pleased to welcome Jim.  He brings a blend of business skills and squash knowledge that will make an exciting difference to our work.”
