Simpson & Noom Take Top Nordic Junior Titles

England's Chris Simpson and the Netherlands' Orla Noom captured the U-19 trophies in the Nordic Junior Open Squash Championships, the first Junior Grand Prix event of the new season in Malmo, Sweden.

Unseeded Simpson, the 16-year-old British National U17 champion from Guernsey, claimed his first European U19 title by beating Wales' Rob Sutherland, also unseeded, 9-3 9-3 0-9 10-8 in the men's final.  Both players made their breakthrough in the quarter-finals, Simpson removing second seed Niels Hoevenaars and Sutherland the top seed Christopher Gordon.

Orla Noom, the top seed, defeated France's 3/4 seed Celia Allamargot 9-4 9-5 9-3 in the women's U19 final to gain revenge for her runners-up finish in the event last year.
