Organisers of the forthcoming Sunshine Squash Masters Cup have extended the closing date for entries to 1st April - in addition to increasing the hotel choices to cater for all pockets.

The inaugural Sunshine Squash Masters Cup will take place at the stunning Le Set Club in Aix-en-Provence, France, from 12-15 April.

Organised jointly by Hands and Rye Travel and Eventis Sports Marketing, the event is open to all levels with both men's and women’s age categories starting from Over 35 through to Over 60’s and aims to combine the best of French hospitality with four days of fun competitive squash.

There is a full line-up of activities around the squash including an exhibition match between former world No1 Peter Nicol and world No2 Peter Marshall.

"The closing date is fast approaching, so for all those players wanting to play but have not yet got round to entering, now is the time to do so," said Angus Kirkland of Eventis.  "The basic entry fee, which includes the welcome reception, is just €75, and hotels start at just 35 euros per person per night – full details of which are on the tournament website.

"Endorsed by the French Federation, the event will enable French players to receive ranking points from the event. For those of you who have been selected for international duty over the coming months the Sunshine Masters should prove to be a good balance of squash and relaxation in your build up," added Kirkland.

In addition the Sunshine Masters Team Cup, players can enter their individual events but can also be part of a team of five or more, each players earn points for the team according to their final position in their event and the aggregate score competes for the cup.  This offers a great opportunity for a club company or group of friends to find their nemesis and enjoy some team building.

Tony Hands of Hands and Rye, a former top ten player now based in France, said:  "I have been working on this concept for some time and the opportunity to work with Eventis and combine all our experience in squash and travel seemed to be a good fit."

Eventis Director and former world No1 Peter Nicol said:  "We chose a Masters event as there are more and more players of that age and a limited number of events to play in.  Although there will be plenty of squash, we aim to provide participants a top class social event and time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. To this end we are laying on a number of optional extras including golf and wine tasting."

Kirkland added:  "The combination of good weather, top class accommodation, superb cuisine and competitive squash make excellent bedfellows.  As well as Peter Nicol’s Legends Exhibition - where he will be challenged by the legendary double-hander Peter Marshall - the participants will be treated to a champagne reception, welcome dinner and a Casino Royale night with blackjack roulette and competition for best James Bond and Bond Girl!"
