WORLD SQUASH NEWS Grinhams Celebrate Highest World Rankings Whilst five-times world champion Sarah Fitz-Gerald maintains her place at the top of the new February Women's World Squash Rankings, announced today (04 February) by the Women's International Squash Players' Association (WISPA), her Australian compatriots Rachael and Natalie Grinham both rise to career-high positions to become the first sisters to celebrate world top ten rankings. Since moving to Cairo in Egypt last year, Queenslander Rachael has enjoyed a significant boost to her career - and rises three places to a best-ever No5 in the new list. After making an unexpected quarter-final exit to Egyptian training partner Omneya Abdel Kawy in last month's Greenwich Open in the USA, the 26-year-old won the Vassar College Open title in Poughkeepsie, New York. Younger sister Natalie, based in the Netherlands, celebrated her maiden WISPA World Tour title winning the Marsh & McLennan Apawamis Open in New York after dismissing two higher-seeded players. Just six days later, the 24-year-old stormed to victory in the Forbes Southport Open in Connecticut - and now enjoys world top ten status for the first time at No10. Sarah Fitz-Gerald heads an unchanged top four list - with New Zealander Carol Owens at 2; Natalie Pohrer of the USA at No3; and England's Linda Charman at No4. England's Vicky Botwright moves up one place to No17 in the new list after making her first WISPA final appearances in January.
