Walker, who caused a major first round upset when he removed top-seeded local hero Borja Golan, was 2-0 up when Garner made his comeback - taking the next two games for just five points, then recovering from 2-8 to 8-9 in the decider. After returning to the court following treatment to his heavily bleeding nose, the score reached 16-all before Walker claimed the match in a 15-8 15-7 2-15 3-15 17-16 scoreline. English qualifier Scott Handley also progressed through to the semi-finals. Following his dismissal of Australia's fourth seed Mike Corren in the first round, Handley recovered from a game down to remove eighth-seeded Belgian Peter Pastijn 15-17 15-8 15-10 15-12. He now meets Australia's sixth seed Glenn Keenan, who survived a comeback by England's Peter Genever to upset the second seed 15-8 17-15 14-15 8-15 15-11. |
