Canadian Daniel Sibley battled for 73 minutes to deny host country Mexico a full house of four qualifiers in the Cuauhtémoc Mexican Open in Mexico City.
The 20-year-old, playing in his first PSA Tour event outside Canada, beat Mexican Salvador Martinez 11-8, 10-11 (1-3), 11-10 (2-0), 11-9 and will now join local players Manuel Fregoso, Marco Toriz and Jorge Isaac Baltazar Ferreira in the main draw.
