RESULTS:        St Louis MPM Open Squash Championship, St Louis, USA

Final:

[4] Stewart Boswell (AUS) bt [2] John White (SCO)           11-6, 11-2, 11-10 (2-0) (41m)

Australia's Stewart Boswell secured the biggest PSA Tour title of his career when he upset Scotland's John White in the final of the St Louis MPM Open Squash Championship in the US state of Missouri.

Seeded four, the 28-year-old from Canberra overcame tough opposition on the way to the final – including a fight-back from two games down against sixth-seeded Welshman Alex Gough in a 71-minute marathon quarter-final.

In the semis, Boswell had to tame rising Egyptian star Ramy Ashour, the record two-times world junior champion.

White, the 33-year-old Scot now based in Philadelphia, was seeking his third successive PSA title success on his adopted 'home' soil this year.

But Boswell comfortably took the opening two games against the hard-hitting second seed – and, after a tense tie-break third game, clinched a sensational 11-6, 11-2, 11-10 (2-0) victory in 41 minutes.

The triumph marks the latest milestone in Boswell's career - which was halted for almost two years from mid 2003 when the then world No4 suffered a mystery back ailment.  A lowly comeback in New Zealand May 2005 began an incredible run of eight PSA Tour titles by September – and a return to the top 20 by the end of the year!

The St Louis success marks the 16th – and biggest - title of Boswell's career.
