England's Jonathan Kemp is on target to win his first ever PSA Tour squash tournament in New Zealand following his emphatic 11-6 11-7 11-7 victory over seventh-seeded Australian Jason Mudge in the today's (Saturday) semi-finals of the Five Star Finance Auckland Squash Open at the North Shore Squash Club in Takapuna.
The top-seeded world No25 from Telford in Shropshire will now face another Australian Mike Corren in the title decider after the third seed battled past fellow Aussie Steve Finitsis in four games.
Meanwhile, top seed Shelley Kitchen had two straightforward victories in the women's WISPA Wold Tour event. The world number 13 beat New Zealand team-mate Joelle King in straight games in the quarter-finals, before repeating the dose against third-seeded Australian Dianne Desira in the semis.
The 26-year-old from Auckland will face Jaclyn Hawkes in the final, with the second seeded kiwi also winning her two matches in straight games.
