USA clinched a 2-1 victory over 7th seeds Spain in Pool B to finish in runners-up position behind second seeds and defending champions England. A 2-1 win over 8th seeds New Zealand in Pool A led Hong Kong to a second place finish in Pool A behind runaway favourites Egypt.
