Mansoor & Gregory To Contest CAS International Final

Third seed Mansoor Zaman will lead home interest in the final of the $25,000 CAS International Squash Championship in Pakistan when he faces France's No2 seed Gregory Gaultier at the PAF Complex in Peshawar.

Zaman, the son of legendary former British Open champion Qamar Zaman, finally ended the run of unseeded Malaysian Mohammed Azlan Iskandar in a five-game semi-final thriller.  Iskandar, who beat Mansoor's two cousins Shahid and Farrukh Zaman to reach the last four, fought back from 1/0 and 2/1 down, but, urged on by fans in his home town Peshawar, the left-handed Pakistani ultimately prevailed 15-12 10-15 15-14 11-15 15-5 in 62 minutes.

Gaultier survived an even more dramatic semi-final, again resisting two fight-backs to quash his French compatriot Renan Lavigne, the No4 seed, 15-10 4-15 15-5 6-15 15-11 in 85 minutes.

Alongside each other in the world rankings at 17 and 18, respectively, Gaultier and Zaman should provide the closest CAS climax on record.
