Koukal In Bid To Extend Prague Record

Czech number one Jan Koukal made a confident start in the opening round of the Hi-Tec & Dunlop Prague Open Squash Championship at the Squashcentrum Strahov in the Czech Republic capital in a bid to extend his unbeaten run in PSA Tour events in his home town Prague.

The 22-year-old top seed beat Italian qualifier Andrea Capella 11-4, 11-5, 11-5 to set up a quarter-final clash with France's fifth seed Fabien Verseille.

Koukal has won five PSA titles in Prague since February 2004 - including two this year.

He was expected to meet Luke Margan in the final - but the second-seeded Australian was beaten 11-9, 11-10 (2-0), 11-10 (6-4) in a powerful first round upset by unseeded Austrian Aqeel Rehman.
