James Snell & Emma Chorley Win Welsh Junior Open Crowns

James Snell and Emma Chorley celebrated an English West Country double at the weekend with U19 victories in the Welsh Junior Open Squash Championships in Cardiff.

Snell reached the men's final without dropping a game – then faced top seed Greg McArthur, from Scotland.  The second seed from Devon took the opening two games before McArthur fought back to level the match.  But Snell regained his composure to storm to a 9-4, 9-2, 6-9, 9-10, 9-1 win – and collect his first European Squash Federation Junior Circuit title.

Less than a month after finishing as runner-up in the British Junior National Championship, Cornwall's Emma Chorley went one better in the Welsh capital when she beat local player Bethan Williams 9-2, 9-2, 9-2 in the women's final.  The victory also marked Chorley's maiden ESF Junior Circuit trophy.
