Razik Rallies To Ross Victory In Manitoba
Canada's Shahier Razik made sure of local interest in the climax of the ADL Optical/Rodenstock Manitoba Squash Open in Winnipeg – but it took the top seed 105 minutes to overcome his fifth-seeded opponent Stacey Ross in the semi-finals of the PSA Tour event in the Canadian province of Manitoba.
Ross, from Surrey in England, took the first game after winning the tie-break 6-4, but the Toronto-based favourite, the event champion in 2004, maintained the upper hand over the next three games to win 10-11 11-8 11-9 11-1.
In his 19th PSA final, Razik will face France's Jean-Michel Arcucci after the fourth seed beat England's sixth seed Scott Handley 11-9 11-5 11-8 in exactly an hour.
