There was a double British success in the EBS Dayton Open Squash Championships when Scotland's John White and England's Linda Elriani lifted the titles in the PSA Tour and WISPA World Tour events in the US state of Ohio.

White, the top seed, faced the surprise star Ramy Ashour in the men's final.  The 18-year-old Egyptian qualifier upset a host of seeds – including second-seeded Finn Olli Tuominen in the semis - before reaching the men's final.

But White, the experienced former world number one who is now US-based, was too strong for the Cairo teenager, winning 11-5 11-3 11-6 to pick up the ninth PSA Tour trophy of his career – but his first since moving to Philadelphia.

The women's final featured the two top seeds, with the experienced favourite Elriani having to fight back from 1/2 down to beat Egypt's second seed Omneya Abdel Kawy 9-5 6-9 7-9 9-5 9-6.  Elriani, the world No6 from Eastbourne in Sussex, was celebrating her 30th appearance in a world tour final, and her 15th title triumph.
