Amstelpark Squash Dames win easily at Meersquash

Amstelpark Squash Dames had an easy time playing Meersquash winning all 4 matches and gaining 5 points to put Amstelpark Squash in first place at the end of the first round of matches for the SBN Dames Eredivisie Competitie.

The number two players were well matched with Meersquash’s Denise Sommers playing Amstelpark’s Leonie Holt. The former NL team player Denise Sommers looked in control in the first game of the match winning it 9-3. Leonie realized that she was playing a fierce competitor and went into the second game hoping to extend the rallies and make fewer unforced errors. Denise remained in control of the second game and then retired from the match at 4-0 having twisted her knee in the first game and not wanting to take the risk of further injury.

Amstelpark’s Annelies Naude had a quick match against Kim Hannes winning 3-0 losing only 5 points in the match. Ellie Pierce beat Yvonne Kwant 3-0 (9-1,9-4,9-0). Cigany Sierveld beat Irene Schiffer 3-0 (9-2,9-2,9-5) to make a clean sweep for the Amstelpark Squash Dames.
