Voorbeschouwing Amstelpark Squash v. Meersquash in Hoofddorp

Meersquash will host the Amstelpark Squash team this evening in what could be a win for Amstelpark Squash due to the fact that many of Meersquash’s ‘usual suspects’ players are not available for this match leaving 1. Kim Hannes, 2. Denise Sommers, 3. Yvonne Kwant and 4. Irene Schiffer to do battle against the Amstelpark Squash Team - Annelize Naude, Leonie Holt, Ellie Pierce, and Cigany Sierveld.
Whether or not Amstelpark Squash wins comfortably (4-1) or not (3-2) will depend on what happens at the #2 and #4 positions.

The #2 position could be a good battle between the wise and crafty Denise Sommers playing for Meersquash against the young and strong Leonie Holt playing for Amstelpark. The youthful strength of the 18 year old Leonie versus the depth and experience of Denise. I am sure that Amstelpark’s youth and enthusiasm will have a difficult time with Denise’s wise ways on the court. But there is always that fitness factor….

Another junior player in the lineup for Amstelpark is 15 year old Cigany Sierveld playing at #4 who will be playing against Meersquash’s Irene Schiffer. Cigany will be playing with more confidence after having a good win (3-2) last week against Laura Zentlveld from Squash Beverwijk. Cigany is taller and playing better squash every week she plays eredivisie! If Cigany plays like she did last week, Irene will have to play consistently and error-free to win this match.

At the end of the evening Amstelpark Squash has a good chance to come away with a win this evening. If there is one thing I know about Dames squash, it’s that you just never know….
