Aziz Has His Revenge In Barcelona
Sweden's Badr Abdel Aziz made up for losing in the final twelve months ago by winning the 2006 Esportiu Rocafort Squash Open title, coming back from 2/1 down against England's Chris Ryder in the final in Barcelona, Spain.
Fourth seed Aziz was 2/0 down against Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet in the semi-finals. But the 25-year-old from Stockholm fought back to win 7-11 6-11 11-5 11-7 11-10 to earn a place in his third PSA final.
His unseeded opponent had reached the final after upsetting second seed Ahmed Mohsen Hassaan in the first round. The 25-year-old Englishman from Aylesbury disappointed the local crowds in the semi-finals when he beat Barcelona's Oriol Salvia in a four-game semi-final.
But Badr Abdel Aziz had the upper hand in the final, winning 11-9 8-11 8-11 11-7 11-7 to claim his second successive PSA title.
