Stoehr Is Best In Brest
Six days after beating Denmark's Ellen Petersen in the final of the
Carcassone City Open, France's Isabelle Stoehr crushed the Dane again in the final of
the Women's Brest Open in her home country.
Remarkably, this was the French champion's third successive meeting with
Petersen in a WISPA World Tour final, and the best victory of the three - a 9-3
9-1 9-0 triumph which will surely lift the 23-year-old from Tours above her
current world ranking of 18.
Both players reached the final after overcoming first game semi-final
setbacks - Stoehr clinching a hard-fought 5-9 9-2 9-1 10-9 win over Wales' fourth
seed Tegwen Malik, and Petersen conquering Carla Khan of Pakistan 5-9 9-6 9-6 9-4.
