Borja Beats Local Hope Delierre In Saskatoon

Spaniard Borja Golan disappointed the local crowd at the Saskatoon Boast Squash Open when he defeated Canadian Shawn Delierre in the semi-finals of the PSA Tour event at the Saskatoon YMCA in Saskatoon, Canada.

It was a tough encounter with honours shared after the first two games.  But the players battled on for 75 minutes before fourth seed Golan finally clinched the 11-8 10-11 11-4 11-8 victory over his sixth-seeded opponent, and a place in his second PSA final in two months.

The other semi-final saw the demise of England's unseeded Daryl Selby – and a return to the final after twelve months for Irishman Liam Kenny, the third seed.

Selby started strongly in the first game and quickly took a one-love lead - but Kenny's steadiness ultimately proved too strong for the Englishman.  The Essex 22-year-old slowed noticeably after the first game, while Kenny took control of the match and stepped up his volleying.

After 46 minutes, Kenny claimed his 8-11 11-3 11-1 11-4 win – and the 12th PSA final appearance of his career.
