Becerril Bursts Into All-Mexican Panamerican Final

Jose Angel Becerril upset Argentina's second seed Roberto Pezzota in the semi-finals of the Panamerican Squash Championships to set up an all-Mexican men's final in the El Salvador capital San Salvador.

Becerril, a 3/4 seed, beat Pezzota 9-7 7-9 9-4 9-4, while compatriot Eric Galvez, the top seed, also dropped a game in his 9-0 9-5 4-9 9-4 victory over Brazil's Rafael F Alarcon in the other semi-final at the Maya Country Club.

The women's final will feature the top two seeds after favourite Samantha Teran, the 24-year-old Mexican going for her third title, beat USA's Louisa Hall 9-6 9-4 9-4, and Canada's No2 seed Alana Miller despatched unseeded Brazilian Karen Redfern 9-0 9-1 9-1.
