Boswell Battles To Eighth Title At Berkshire Open
Australia's Stewart Boswell continued his impressive comeback run on the PSA Tour this year when he beat compatriot Cameron Pilley in the final of the Berkshire Open Squash Championship at Williams College in Williamstown, USA, to claim his eighth title of the year.
The pair began at a high pace. An early lead for Pilley evaporated with a few critical tins as Boswell surged back to take game one.
Unseeded Boswell looked exhausted in game two, Pilley's big wingspan and quick reactions having forced him to do extra work. A few thrilling crosscourt volleys into the nick highlighted a masterful game from the fourth seed to even the score.
In the third, Queenslander Pilley seemed to lose a step. A player who relies on setting up and taking the ball unusually early, the 22-year-old looked punch-less in a game Boswell ended speedily.
The 27-year-old underdog from Canberra kept Pilley on his heels in a quick fourth game to win the match 11-9 5-11 11-2 11-0 in 55 minutes and become the Berkshire Open's second champion.
