Malaysians Mount Pakistan Attack In Wah Cantt

Home favourite Carla Khan swept into the semi-finals of the Women's POF Wah Cantt Open after despatching England's Jenna Gates in today's (Wednesday) quarter-finals in just 13 minutes.  But the UK-based Pakistani number one will face opposition from three Malaysians as she tries to lift the title in the country's first women's international event at the Jahangir Khan Squash Complex in Wah Cantt, near Islamabad.

Khan beat sixth seed Gates 9-3 9-2 9-3 – and now faces eighth-seeded Malaysian Delia Arnold, who took 41 minutes to overcome unseeded compatriot Lim Yoke Wah 3-9 9-0 9-6 9-4.

The other semi-final will feature Tricia Chuah, from Kuala Lumpur, and Antwerp-based Sharon Wee.  Chuah, the fifth seed, upset third-seeded Dane Line Hansen 6-9 9-0 9-3 9-6 in 37 minutes, while second seed Wee had to fight back from two games down to thwart Korean Lee Hai-Kyung, the seventh seed, 2-9 5-9 9-1 9-0 9-2.
