The 30-year-old world No7 from Norfolk, the top seed, defeated Scotland's Susan Dalrymple 9-0 9-2 9-0 and goes on to meet compatriot Sarah Kippax, the No6 seed, who beat New Zealand's Kylie Lindsay 9-3 9-4 9-6. An England representative in the final is already assured as the other quarter-final in the top half of the draw will also be an all-English affair, between fifth seed Alison Waters and eighth seed Tina Rix. Waters despatched Scottish qualifier Helen Macfie 9-6 9-1 9-4 while Rix registered a 9-2 9-1 9-6 win over compatriot Sarah Bowles.
