Hosts Celebrate Domestic Double In French Junior Open

Mathieu Castagnet and Celia Allamargot claimed a domestic double in the French Junior Open Squash Championships in Marseille.

Castagnet took the squash world by surprise last April when, seeded to reach only the last sixteen, he fought through to the European Junior Championship final in Belgium.  In the Marseille final, the top-seeded Le Mans teenager - beaten in the semi-finals last year - defeated Sweden's Gustav Detter 9-2 9-3 9-5.  Detter, a 3/4 seed, had upset Switzerland's No2 seed Nicolas Muller in the previous round.

Celia Allamargot was also seeded to win the women's title - and also did so beating a 3/4 seed.  The 18-year-old from La Rochelle, a quarter-finalist twelve months ago, outplayed two French opponents to reach the final - then defeated compatriot Camille Serme 9-5 9-6 10-8 to secure the trophy.
