After failing to clinch a tie-break in the first game, Iskandar went on to assert himself in his first ever match against El Hindi, the 24-year-old world No30 from Cairo. Iskandar, the second seed from Sarawak, thrilled the partisan crowd when he finally claimed his epic 10-11 11-5 11-5 11-7 victory after 48 minutes. Currently poised at 21 in the Dunlop PSA World Rankings, Iskandar can now confidently look forward to a first ever appearance in the world top twenty when the January rankings are announced next week. |
