Atkinson Moves To Second Place In WISPA Grand Prix Standings

Vanessa Atkinson, winner of last week's Women's Brunei Squash International, has moved above England's Cassie Jackman into second place in the latest Qatar Airways Grand Prix Standings.

The 28-year-old from the Netherlands has won two of the four WISPA Grand Prix events played so far this year, with Australia's new world number one Rachael Grinham having taken the other two.

Jackman, who lost her world No1 status to Grinham this week, still holds onto third place in the standings - despite having withdrawn from the latest WISPA GP event in Brunei as a result of an Achilles injury.

With Rebecca Macree and Nicol David moving up the listing as a result of quarter-final finishes in Bandar Seri Begawan, there are no less than seven players within 500 points of Egypt's Omneya Abdel Kawy, who currently holds the bottom of the eight invitee places for next year's WISPA Grand Prix Finals.

The next WISPA Grand Prix event will be the new Bahrain Classic, from 11-16 September.
