Castets Conquers In Carcassone

France's Corinne Castets won the 'generation game' in the French city of Carcassone when she beat Belgium teenager Charlie De Rycke - less than half her age - in the final of the Women's Carcassone City Squash Open to claim the second WISPA World Tour title of her career.

Both players had reached the final unseeded, but on the day it was the experienced 38-year-old Castets who had the upper hand, beating the 17-year-old European Junior Champion from Antwerp 9-3 9-1 9-2 to become the second successive local winner of the title.

Despite being near to retirement, Castets has enjoyed one of the best months of her long career.  Earlier in May, in the French town of Rennes, the Parisian made an emotional farewell at the European Championships after representing her country with distinction for 20 years, during which time she amassed 160 senior caps - which is believed to be a European record!
