Shahid Upsets Mansoor In Lahore

Pakistan's Shahid Zaman scored one of the best victories of his career when he upset his higher-ranked cousin Mansoor Zaman in the final of the Pakistan Circuit Event No1 in Lahore to claim his first PSA Tour title.

Second seed Shahid, the world No36 from Quetta, was in blistering form as he defied the seedings to earn his first ever win over favourite Mansoor, the world No19 from Peshawar who led in both the first and third games.

But on the day, the left-handed Mansoor - who had reached the final without dropping a game - was no match for his younger cousin, who swept to his historic 15-6 15-9 15-9 victory in 41 minutes.

It was the fourth time the pair had met in finals in Pakistan - with Mansoor victorious in April's SAF Games final in Islamabad and in the Pakistan National Championship climax in Abbottabad in June last year.  Their only previous meeting in a PSA Tour event final was almost three years ago in the CAS International in Islamabad.
