PSA To Provide Streaming At Super Series Finals

Following the success of the second pilot test at the Bermuda Open in March, the Professional Squash Association (PSA) has confirmed that a further pilot internet streaming service will be carried out at next week's Brit Insurance Super Series Finals at Broadgate Arena in London, for the dates 12th to 14th May inclusive.

Access to the live channel is, as usual, through the www.PSA-Squash.com  home page, where the top right hand banner will click through to the log-on page.

PSA Chief Executive Gawain Briars comments:   "After the exponentially better service we achieved the second time out, at the Bermuda Open, PSA is delighted to be able to provide the next streaming service of the best players in the world playing at a major PSA event, again free of charge to our viewers and underwritten by PSA, this time from the Brit Insurance Super Series Finals in Broadgate.

"We received such positive and objective responses from thousands of viewers last time, and we hope that the experience will be at least as good again this time.

"Specifically, in collaboration with Horizon Services who are sharing the costs, we shall broadcast all matches of the last three days of the event - being the final day of qualification, followed by the semi-finals and the final, on the 12th, 13th and 14th May, respectively," Briars explained.

"However, because the venue has been unable to provide an internet connection directly into the arena, we shall be broadcasting on a delayed (but short) live basis at the end of each evening to provide our operatives sufficient time to get to the broadband terminal for upload.

"Again, the streaming can be received on PCs in either lo-resolution or hi-resolution, and the matches will also be immediately uploaded for replays.  Chat room and feedback facilities will be in place and, once again, we only ask that our viewers assist us in this ground-breaking new service for squash by remaining fair and objective with your views - which we do want to receive," Briars added.

The Brit Insurance Super Series Finals will be contested by the eight leading point scorers from the 2003 PSA Super Series Tour - including England's world No1 Peter Nicol, No2 John White (Scotland), No3 Thierry Lincou (France), No4 Lee Beachill (England), No7 Amr Shabana (Egypt), No8 Jonathon Power (Canada), No9 Nick Matthew (England) and No12 Joseph Kneipp (Australia).
