Injury To Ricketts Opens Door For Defending Champion

World No10 Anthony Ricketts has withdrawn from next week's Brit Insurance Super Series Squash Finals in London.  The 25-year-old has failed to recover from a knee injury that has kept him out of the game for four months.

The Australian's withdrawal opens the door for Canada's defending champion Jonathon Power to compete in this prestigious eight-man event at the Broadgate Arena from 10th - 14th May.

The 29-year-old from Montreal narrowly missed out on automatic qualification for this year's event after finishing level with England's Nick Matthew in the 2003 PSA Super Series Tour standings.  Matthew, however, took the final place in the eight-man line-up by virtue of the fact that he had competed in more Super Series qualifying events.

Power will take Anthony Ricketts' place in the Harrow Group and will face first round matches against John White of Scotland and Nick Matthew and Peter Nicol of England - both of whom featured in the national team's impressive victory at the European Team Championships over the weekend.

Power won the 2003 Brit Insurance Super Series Finals at Broadgate after a thrilling five-game final against Nicol.
