Hometown hero Davide Bianchetti celebrated his third title victory in four years in the Mega Italia Open when he beat Egyptian Andrew Wagih Shoukry in the final of the $6,000 PSA World Tour squash event at Il Leone Shopping Mall in Brescia, Italy.
Top seed Bianchetti lined up against his third English opponent in the semi-finals - and beat fourth seed Jaymie Haycocks in straight games to reach the event final for the sixth time since 2000.
Shoukry, the 18-year-old sixth seed from Cairo, made his breakthrough in the quarter-finals when he upset third-seeded compatriot Mazen Gamal. He maintained his giant-killing run in the semis, taking out John Rooney, the No2 seed from Ireland, in four games.
But 32-year-old Brescia boy Bianchetti was too strong for the teenager in the final, winning 11-5, 11-9, 11-9 in 44 minutes to mark his 11th title on the PSA Tour.
