Moros Avenges 2003 Loss By Winning 2004 French Junior Open Trophy

Spain's Margaux Moros made up for the disappointment of losing out in last year's event by winning the women's U-19 title in the 2004 French Junior Open Squash Championships in Marseille.

Top seed for the second year in a row, Moros dropped her only game of the tournament in the final as she fought back from a game behind to beat seventh-seeded Scot Lauren Gray 1-9 9-4 9-4 9-3 to lift the title.

Gray, a quarter-finalist in 2003, had reached the final after a shock quarter-final upset over local favourite Celia Allamargot, the No2 seed.

The top seeds in the men's event made early exits.  Malaysian favourite Wong Kim Lee was taken out in four games in the first round by unseeded Jens Schoor.  The German went on to lose in five games in the quarter-finals to ninth-seeded Egyptian Mahmoud Adel - but it was his unseeded compatriot Tarek Nomen who starred in the event after removing France's second seed Yann Perrin in the last eight.

Nomen progressed to the final where he despatched Hong Kong's fourth seed Dick Lau 9-6 9-3 9-2 to become the unexpected winner of the trophy.
